Supporting our Community

There are many groups around Eaton Bray and the surrounding villages that provide volunteer support. TheĀ  aim of this page is to gather all the details of those groups in to one, easy list.

Eaton Bray Good Neighbours Scheme

Set up in 2017 to help local people. We cover Eaton Bray and neighbouring villages- Northall, Edlesborough and Totternhoe. We have a phone line open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm . We aim to help with jobs you might ask a neighbour or friend to do. Collecting prescriptions, delivering groceries from local stores, posting letters, lifts to doctors, dentist or hospital. Mileage is charged at 43p/mile paid to the volunteer. We also have a befriending service with a weekly phone call and hope to get back to running small social events.

We always need new volunteers as drivers, to hold the phone once or twice a month or to join the befriending group. All our volunteers will be DBS checked.

The club is for elderly people who might benefit from a social day out once a week. Open from10 am to 3 pm and provides morning coffee/tea and biscuits, a home cooked lunch, afternoon tea and cakes. Games & bingo, organised entertainment, sale table, outside visits, and has its own mini bus.

All of the above requires many volunteers (for example: cooks, mini bus drivers & conductors, entertainers ) also there are various fundraising events which also require a lot of help.
