Green bins not collected

The Parish Council have become aware that the village’s green garden waste bins were not collected Monday 19th July. CBC have issued the following statement:

Original alert from CBC, 21st July 2021.

Garden waste collections in the south are temporarily suspended

Due to an increase in staff needing to self-isolate due to COVID-19 and a national shortage of qualified waste vehicle drivers, we are experiencing severe staff shortages.
So that we can prioritise resources to maintain critical household waste collections such as clinical waste, residual waste (black bin) and dry recycling, there will be a temporary suspension for all kerbside collections of household garden waste across the South of Central Bedfordshire from today (21st July) for at least a week. This also means we will not be able to collect the garden waste from the areas in the South that they were unable to collect earlier this week.

The following areas are in the South of Central Bedfordshire:

Eaton Bray is among many areas in South Bedfordshire affected.

Some garden waste collections in areas in the North may also be disrupted but as yet are not suspended.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, please bear with us at this difficult time.
